Updated 5/27/07
Dear Friend,

I've been informed that the initial phase of disaster recovery is over, and financial donations are now needed. Various charities below are in process of serving as relief centers and staging centers for the demolition and reconstruction of buildings, and temporary placement of the displaced. Haviland Friends Church is a staging center for 50-60 volunteers.

If interested, please see an obituary, the 12th victim of the storm. It describes a little about the life one leads farming in America's heartland. A radical group protested the funeral at the Haviland Friends Church. Story here.

The latest news on the governmental financing of the rebuilding of Greensburg, KS, is here.

Previous news on the reconstruction of Greensburg, Kansas is here. Monsanto Corp. donated $50,000 to rebuild schools, libraries, etc. - here.

In Friendship,
QiN-Friend

again the Friends' related charities are:

This fund will be used to help the 5% of all victims who have lost everything in the 1.75 mile wide, 205 mph tornado, which swept the ground for almost an hour. Included in the 1500 people who were displaced, five Haviland Friends Church members also lost everything, two lived in Greensburg, and three lived on farms outside of town which were also completely destroyed. A church member has assured me that each donor will receive an accounting of how all gifts to this fund were used.
